Our Team

Daniel Dearing – Managing Director

Daniel Dearing is the founder and Managing Director of Actualise Consulting. He is a highly networked, professional and proactive technology commercialisation specialist and programme manager with a passion for innovation and technology.

With over 30 years of experience in the high-tech electronics industry Daniel has held a wide range of positions in high tech electronics companies ranging from VC-funded start-up technology companies to large defence electronics companies. The early part of his career was spent in mostly technical roles working on software and system development on applications ranging from military avionics through fixed and wireless communications systems to high volume consumer electronics, mobile and medical devices.

Since the start of 2001 Daniel’s experience has been more focused on the commercial and business aspects of the technology sector, with experience of working in technology consulting, business development and marketing with many small companies and public-sector funded organisations such as UK Electronics Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) and Digital Catapult.

“I have a passion for technology and innovation, and my experience and inquisitive nature enables me to rapidly gain deep insight into technologies and business models and then relate them back to non-technical people in a way they can understand.  Throughout my career, I’ve placed a great deal of value in building trust-based relationships and bringing together individuals and communities with a common interest in particular technology themes. I’m a firm believer in the old adage ‘people do business with people’
